To cite just one example, there are 15 Torikizoku in Shinjuku Ward! There is no excuse to miss the delicious skewers at $2.50/2.25€ a pair.
Indeed, all the dishes and drinks on the menu are at the unbeatable price of 298 yen, or $2.50/2.25€.
As with any good izakaya, you'll need to ring the doorbell at your table to order. The menus are not always available in English, but the dishes are mostly illustrated, and the staff is there to help you understand how it works.

Skewers, but not only!
To accompany your skewers, try other dishes usually ordered at the izakaya. Fried chicken, cabbage, salad, marinated vegetables, fries, or even breaded camembert, there is something for everyone. The menu also offers ramen and rice dishes.
But if the Japanese go to Torikizoku, it's mainly to enjoy a cold beer after work. You can choose between fruity cocktails, wine, whiskey, local alcohol (sake, umeshu ), and other Japanese items to discover. Of course, many non-alcoholic drinks are also available.

30 years of success and good humor
The chain was founded in 1986, and today more than 680 restaurants serve hungry and thirsty customers every day across Japan. From 5 pm, the employees are on a war footing because they know that the night will be extended (some Torikizoku don't close until 5 am). The restaurant fills up quickly and stays that way until closing, as newcomers write their names on a sheet while waiting for a table to become available.
Advice: try to arrive early enough; otherwise, you will have to wait more than an hour. This is to say the popularity of the channel! Also, most restaurants are smoke-free in Japan, but the site offers a list of 25 non-smoking establishments.
The decor may surprise me, but all the furniture is wooden. Simplicity is essential, and that makes the charm of the place.
In a large room where sometimes more than 100 customers gather, bursts of laughter ring out, and the trays filled with glasses and plates go back and forth in the kitchen.
For a successful Japanese evening without breaking the bank, Torikizoku is a must!
