Honpukuji Temple aka the Water Temple on Awaji Island was designed by architect Ando Tadao. It creates different forms of light and shade at different times of the day.
This is one of the oldest shrines in Japan, it is around 18 centuries old. Sometimes the entrance of the Ikuta Shrine is filled with advertisements for local crafts.
