One of the most essential cities in Japan, Hiroshima is a bustling center for culture both old and new!

Visit Okunoshima Island, known as Rabbit Island, where you'll be greeted by a medley of these wild, cute animals. Okunoshima Island is accessible from Omishima Island and part of Takehara City in Hiroshima Prefecture. Due to their tame demeanor, they will approach humans in large numbers. Aside from the adorable little critters, there exists a number of unique spots and museums that are representative of the World War II connected history of the island. Engage in history while also seeing the island as the bastion of vibrant life that it has evolved into. It is a unique Hiroshima experience that will delight young and old alike.

If you want to immerse yourself in and take a tour of history, don't miss a visit to Hiroshima's Peace Park, a symbol of hope and resilience. On August 6th of every year, the Peace Memorial Ceremony is held at the park on the day of the historic dropping of the atomic bomb of the city. Take a tour and walk around the grounds then visit the famous Atomic Bomb Dome, a building that initially survived the attack and whose damaged silhouette remains as a memorial to commemorate the historic event and the city of peace that Hiroshima looks to represent for the modern day.
