Sake Tasting
In Kyoto's Fushimi district, take advantage of a Japanese sake professional's expertise for a sake tasting that will surprise and delight your taste buds.
"Nihonshu" sake tasting
Sake in Japan, more commonly known as "nihonshu", or literally "Japanese alcohol", is not only a delicious drink, but is also an essential part of religious celebrations and festivities. With a remarkably wide range of flavours, just as with wine - fruity, dry, sweet, etc... varying according to the type of sake, region and climate, ingredients, age, brewing techniques and brewer, it goes wonderfully well with all kinds of food.
How to drink sake
You will discover exactly this with your own palate. After unveiling the secrets of its production process at a local brewery (sake is made by fermenting rice), your sake expert will tell you what to eat with the sake, and you will be able to taste 10 different types of sake with carefully picked out dishes.
