The Belgian author, who is Japanese at heart, delivers a parallel story to her successful Fear and Trembling. If the latter presents the disastrous career of the young woman, Tokyo Fiancée gives a new perspective, that of the heart. In her relationship with Rinri, Amélie Nothomb shyly evokes feelings, communication difficulties and the beginnings of a couple with no real future. A short novel, as an uncertain wavering, which reveals enigmatic Amelie a little more.
