- Hiroshima Castle Park
Built in 1589, Hiroshima Castle sits right in the middle of the city. Like the rest of the city, it was destroyed by the bombings of 1945, then rebuilt. The 450 cherry trees, scattered around the grounds of the castle, offer many possibilities for your picnics with family or friends! Don't forget to take a detour to see the sakura blossoms near the dungeon.
In Japanese, "Shukkei-en" can be translated as "garden with reduced landscapes", which corresponds quite well to its composition. Miniature landscapes represent valleys, mountains and forests. The garden was built in 1620, just after the completion of Hiroshima Castle. 200 yoshino cherry trees, mountain cherry trees and weeping cherry trees bloom in this miniature garden.
Entrance 250 yen (€ 2), from April to September, open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Along the Motoyasu river (memorial park)
Near the Hiroshima Peace Memorial on the Motoyasu River, 300 cherry trees grow. The walk between the atomic bomb dome and the peace boulevard is a very popular hanami spot; come early in the morning to make sure you get a seat! Possibility of cruises to admire the sakura from the river.
The 1,300 cherry trees in the park structure the hills, creating patches of pink color that blend into the landscape of Hiroshima. Spot appreciated by locals, you can enjoy the yozakura, cherry trees at night , until 11 p.m. every evening. You will also find an observatory, a contemporary art museum and a library specializing in manga.

- Summit of Mount Misen in Miyajima
Culminating at 535 meters in height, Mount Misen, located on Miyajima, is sacred. From here you will have a breathtaking view of the 2,000 cherry trees that grow on the island.
Funicular 20 min walk from Miyajima port, climb time 20 min, then 30 min walk to the top.
