Kyoto station is the largest railway station in Japan and is one of the most important stations in the country. Its extraordinary architecture also makes it a building that on its own is worth a visit.

Kyoto Station has everything for travelers: souvenir shops , hotels, restaurants, cafes ... Ideal for last minute souvenirs or for a meal between two trains.
There is also a large tourist office with documents in Japanese and foreign languages as well as English-speaking employees ready to help us.
It is also at Kyoto station, at the counter of the JR company, that you can get your Japan Rail Pass .
Around
Right in front of the station, North exit, is the Kyoto Tower . For 770 yen (adult price), you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the city, 100m above sea level. On the second floor of the tower, you will find a 100 yen Daiso shop to buy souvenirs for your friends.
A few steps away are department stores, such as Aion, Isetan or Yodobashi Camera (sort of Darty).
You can also go to the Post Office to send your postcards from Kyoto. If you haven't found any maps, you can purchase limited editions of Kyoto City Post Office!
