The Cafetel hotel Cafetel
Just for these ladies
Since its opening in July 2018, the Cafetel hotel in Kyoto has already made a lot of noise. Too bad for the gentlemen, this is an establishment entirely reserved for ladies.
Japan is known for the diversity and sometimes the incongruity of its hotels. The Cafetel hotel in Kyoto has the particularity of being entirely reserved for women. And, Japan obliges, necessarily kawaii !
An ideal location for a minimal price
Cafetel is a budget non-smoking establishment with rooms for 3 or 4 people starting at 5,000 yen (about 40 euros) per person and four-bed dorms from 3,500 yen (about 27 euros) per person ( prices vary by date).
Located right next to Sanjô station , it is the ideal place to put down your suitcases and set off to explore Kyoto by metro, on foot or by bicycle since the hotel rents bicycles . Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Gion District can be reached on foot.
To the delight of the ladies
The rooms are bright and comfortable, with a kawaii style, some even offer a view of the nearby Kamogawa River . The Wi-Fi is free, the toilets and bathrooms are shared but they are very well equipped . Hairdryer, hair irons, bath towels, bathrobes, toothbrushes, nothing has been forgotten and everything has been thought out to please the female clientele.
In the era of selfies, in the evening, the hotel makes paper lanterns available to its customers to take unforgettable shots in the park next door.

A coffee for all
As its name suggests, the hotel has a café (open to the public, gentlemen are welcome!) where you can have breakfast, lunch and even dinner. They serve organic coffees, flavored teas or the house specialty: pancakes called “Sanjo-san Pancakes”, which, with 6 small pancakes accompanied by whipped cream, red fruits and strawberry coulis, make the happiness of gourmets. You can consult many brochures or tourist guides on the city of Kyoto and book tours.
In short, Cafetel is the perfect place for a stay with friends but, be warned, the hotel is quickly full and it is better to book well in advance!
