The SUICA card: even more practical
The IC SUICA card, which allows you to use most public transport services, is currently out of stock.
For travel to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and beyond, we have the ideal solution: the "Welcome Suica" card. This alternative works in a similar way to the classic SUICA card, but with a 28-day validity, making it a practical and flexible choice for your travels.

One card, many uses
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications hopes to implement this new system with the help of Nec Corp. by the 2020 Olympic Games. Already a virtual wallet that can be used to pay for purchases at konbini or vending machines, its service will be further extended. Travelers holding a Suica card from the East Japan Railway network will be able to check in at hotels or make purchases in duty-free shops without having to show a passport.
Passport Card
Using this new system couldn't be simpler! All you need is a Suica card and a smartphone. All you have to do isregister your details on the card, and you're ready to go! When you buy limousine bus tickets from the airport, your hotel will automatically be notified of your arrival time. Once there, you can check in using the same Suica card. If you have food allergies, Suica will even be able to inform your hotel restaurant!
The system was first tested in February 2017, and further improvements are planned between now and its launch in 2020.
