Slopes For All Levels
Its strong point? The wide variety of terrain , as well as the different types of slopes, can satisfy both children and beginners, and snow sports pros. But also the quality of its snow , which falls in abundance every winter: more than 8 meters of light and dry powder , which promises beautiful descents!
It was in 1931 that the first skiers descended the slopes of this now renowned resort of Furano, which over the years has hosted various international events such as the Snowboard World Cup. The resort has therefore equipped itself with numerous ski lifts, but above all it has the fastest cable car in Japan ! It takes skiers to the top of the domain at a speed of more than ten meters per second .
It is also possible to take ski lessons there, thanks to different schools located in the resort. And, for snowshoe enthusiasts, hikes are also regularly organized.

From Skiing To Hiking
The two ski areas are open from the end of November to the beginning of May, but the resort is open all year round , which allows lovers of hiking, more than powder snow, to come and discover its peaks. The ski slopes are thus transformed into marked hiking trails . And, above all, the sides of the mountain swap their white coat for a multitude of dazzling colors: fields of lavender as far as the eye can see, rapeseed, poppies or even lupins give the resort of Furano an air of Holland.
The Furano estate is therefore worth a visit, whether you are passing through Hokkaido in winter or summer!
