In the middle of the rice fields, La Collina, an innovative complex with a poetic name, brings together in one and the same place confectionery shops, pastry shops, restaurants, a café, farms and the headquarters of the Taneya company, located in Omihachiman for 146 years.

In harmony with nature

La Collina, with a total area of more than 115,000 m², houses the head office of Taneya, a Club Harie pastry shop where succulent baumkuchen are made on site, acastella pastry shop, a café, a food court bringing together several restaurants , a souvenir shop in a 1950s garage setting, the “J'oublie le temps” bakery , small farms, a vegetable market , a forest, a pond and rice fields; just that ! Its main building with a green roof is the work of architect Terunobu Fujimori.

Other work by Fujimori: The Shinshoji Zen Museum and Gardens

For gourmets and gourmands

On the 1st floor, the baumkuchen pastry shop has a production workshop where you can observe the know-how of the pastry chefs. On the walls, old wooden wagashi molds tell the whole story of Taneya. In the Castella store, the majestic chestnut pillars come from Nagano prefecture, where Fujimori is a native; trees rigorously selected by the architect himself. Stop at the café located on the 2nd floor, whose furniture has been carved from trees from the surrounding mountains. Facing the menu, the choice will be difficult!

Where people and nature meet

La Collina is one of those places that is difficult to describe as it has many facets . This site, Taneya wanted it to be innovative, global and eco-responsible . Rooted in Omihachiman, the company is deeply attached to its local land, to its preservation and transmission to future generations. Placing agriculture at the heart of the project, Taneya created this place to allow people to reconnect with nature and learn more about the cultivation of the land through small farms and workshops open to everyone.
