The ideal outing for fun in Osaka
If you visit the 1970 Osaka World Expo Memorial Park during your stay, you cannot miss the Expocity shopping complex. Indeed, just outside the Bampaku-Kinen-Koen station, two huge installations welcome visitors leaving the monorail: the famous Tower of the Sun, a work by the Japanese artist Okamoto Taro (1911-1996) created for the World Expo and the Redhorse Osaka Wheel, Expocity's big wheel!
The imposing 172,000 m² complexes will be part of your program for the day in case of peckishness, rain, or shopping fever. In its central part, the LaLaport Expocity shopping center is located. Browse its 300 shops spread over three levels in a single day is a challenge!
Clothing and accessories, sporting goods, electronic devices, household items, goodies of all kinds; Everyone will find his account. Note the presence of an area dedicated to culture and urban sports called Zone HLNA which brings together specialized shops. It is even possible to do some tricks there since it offers a small skate indoor ramp!
And for foodies of all ages, here too there is a wide choice between the outdoor restaurant area, Expo Kitchen, and the FoodPavilion located on the 3rd level.

- Nifrel
Inaugurated in November 2015, the Aquazoo Nifrel is a hybrid place: at the same time, an aquarium, zoo, and museum. Designed by the Kaiyukan company which also operates the very popular Kaiyukan aquarium in Osaka, this animal park presents more than 2000 animals of 150 different species (fish, birds, land animals).
In some areas of the park, some specimens roam freely among visitors. An outing closer to nature and animals!
- Redhorse Osaka Wheel
If you like thrills, you have to get on board the Redhorse Osaka Wheel! Inaugurated in July 2016, it could give people with vertigo a cold sweat. Not content with claiming the title of the largest Ferris wheel in Japan culminating at 123 meters in height, this wheel has 72 cabins on an entirely transparent floor!
- 109 IMAX theaters
Eleven movie theaters await spectators at Expocity, two of which offer the latest immersive experiences: an IMAX theater with an 18-meter-high screen and a room equipped with 4DX technology for more real-life sensations!
- Osaka English village
If you want to improve your English, we advise you to take a short lesson at the Osaka English Village. This educational entertainment center offers course sessions lasting one or more days in settings that recreate major American locations.
- VS-Park
Many activities, often funny and wacky, are on the program at Expocity's VS Park. Among these, sport above all but always coupled with innovative and offbeat digital devices projected on the walls or the floor: basketball, billiards, golf, squash, table tennis, archery, football, puzzle solving. head, obstacle course… and race against a wild or prehistoric animal!
Plan a casual outfit to fully enjoy it. The VS Park is responsible for providing a good dose of good humor.
- Anipo
Anipo is a small animal-themed amusement park. Here, is a sensational point of attraction because Anipo wants to be accessible to children of all ages. The ideal place for family fun.
- Entertainment Field
Entertainment Field immerses you in the world of the British cartoon, Shaun, the Sheep thanks to its playground, its arcade room and its merchandise store. Don't miss the attraction "Teamlab Odeaki Town" which uses the video device produced by the collective of artists TeamLab to animate and project on the wall the drawings colored by your children.
- Sora Plaza
Finally, the Sora Plaza is not an activity in itself but this small square in the center of the complex has the advantage of allowing our dear little darlings to run freely to evacuate their excess energy and parents to rest!
