Takada Family Home 加賀藩士高田家跡
An honorable blade
Narrow streets lined with thick, long, never ending walls. Although austere at first, the old Kanazawa samurai district conceals many secrets for those who dare to open the doors of these noble mansions.
From generation to generation, the members of the Takada family used their blades in service of the ruling powers in the province of Kaga (former name of the Kanazawa region). It is possible to visit some of their former homes, now restored, including stables and a garden with descriptions explaining the lifestyle of a middle class samurai family in the Edo period (1603-1868). Blooming flowers or soft snow, the garden of great refinement is appreciable no matter the season.
